Expert in Road Engineering and Geosciences with 21 years of professional experience, led multidisciplinary teams in Brazil and Angola, which included more than 500 professionals, from the most diverse engineering and architecture specialities. He is the Director of the Geolab Business Unit.

Janilson Araújo, Director of the Geolab Business Unit

Graduate in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil, in 2000, with specialization in traffic engineering.

 

He began his professional career, still as a trainee, in a consulting company acting in the area of road engineering. Between 2000 and 2003 he worked as road design engineer, specializing in geometric alignment. He coordinated teams for the elaboration of studies and projects, assuming in 2003 the position of Technical Director, that besides the technical responsibility for all contracts, coordinated the commercial strategy and elaboration of technical and financial proposals. During this period, he supported the development of road projects, special works of art, urban infrastructure, sanitation and supervision of works in the states of Pernambuco, Paraíba, Maranhão and Mato Grosso.

 

In 2005 he was hired, when BDM was founded in Angola, to exercise the position of Road Infrastructure Designer, moving soon after to the position of Project Area Coordinator. In 2008 he took on the role of Project Manager, a position he held until the end of 2012, when he became the Technical Director of the company. In June 2017 he assumed the position of General Director, gathering the attributions of Technical Director.

 

As Director, he led multidisciplinary teams with more than 500 professionals from the most diverse engineering and architecture specialties, also highlighting the plurality of nationalities, a factor that contributed positively to the development and quality of the services provided by BDM. During the 13 years of BDM, he worked in the management of the areas of Engineering Projects, Architecture and Urbanism, Geotechnics, Geotechnology, Environment and Solid Waste, Water and Sanitation, Transport Graduate in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil, in 2000, with specialization in traffic engineering.
