Cristina Nero Correia Reis is an Environmental Engineer, graduated from Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon (IST-UL) in 2000, and was a research fellow at IN+ (Centre for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research) between 1998 and 2000. She was also a MSc student at IST, where she completed the curricular component of the MSc in Mechanical Engineering- Energy specialization.
Her professional career started at the multinational ATKINS (currently integrated in the SNC-Lavalin group), one of the major consulting company in the world, where she integrated the technical board in 2001 and worked for 15 years.
He is currently Vice President of the Sustainability and Energy Business Unit of the FUTURE Group, a multinational group that provides engineering services in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America and has more than 1000 employees worldwide. He is also Vice-President of the FUTURE Group Holding for the areas of Organization and Integration and Marketing & Communication..
With over 20 years of professional experience of leading environmental projects and strategies, she is specialized in the coordination of multidisciplinary consultancy services in environment and sustainability, having particular knowledge of companies that operate in the energy sector, along the entire supply chain, from energy generation (hydroelectric, solar, wind, hybrid and wave energy promoters), to transmission (public companies/ concessionaires) and distribution networks (private agents).
In her portfolio, she has been responsible for the coordination of consulting and environmental evaluation projects, supervision and design of compensatory measures, and she also has been responsible for the environmental evaluation, monitoring or supervision of more than 300 projects. Recently, she has been specializing in communication strategies and actions, involvement and social and environmental commitment.

Since 2018/2019, he has taken on specific roles in promoting sustainability within the FUTURE Group and with strategic clients. In 2020, in view of a major commitment to developing skills and sharing knowledge, he started and maintains a teaching activity in the implementation of corporate sustainability strategies, calculation and management of carbon footprint and environmental assessment of environmental impact.
In 2022, she was selected and qualified by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) as a Post-Assessment Verifier of projects subject to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), until 2026, which gives her official qualification to verify, on behalf of the APA, the implementation of conditions imposed in environmental licensing.
